VIRGINIA BEACH - Jeffrey Allan Hanbury, 43, of the 3300 block of Pattie Lane, passed away Jan. 30, 2005, in Heritage Hall Nursing Home after a courageous battle with cancer.

A native of Portsmouth, he was the son of the late Floyd S. Hanbury. He was an auto mechanic with a regular clientele of people wanting their cars fixed. He was a member of Alexander Baptist Church and was active in the Boy Scouts. He was a 1980 graduate of Cradock High School and Tidewater Community College.

He is survived by his mother, Billie S. Carey and her husband Aldridge of Chesapeake; his fiancee, Cathy Sue Froelick of Virginia Beach; a daughter, Brittany Marie Hanbury of Portsmouth; and a son, Marine Cpl. Jason E. Hanbury of Portsmouth. He is also survived by his sister, JoAnn M. Morgan of Virginia Beach; and a brother, Bruce W. Morgan Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Providence, N.C.

A memorial service will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. at Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.
