PORTSMOUTH – Frederick Rudolph House, 62, of Portsmouth, went home
to be with the Lord on Monday, May 19, 2014, while surrounded by his
family. He was born on January 15, 1952 in Portsmouth, VA and was
preceded in death by his father, Sherwood R. House, Jr.
Fred worked for the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) as a
lighting designer / director for 42 years. While there, he built
studios around the world to further the Gospel; and received
numerous awards for his outstanding service in Christian
Broadcasting. He also pastored Spirit of Truth Ministries, a home
based fellowship, for 34 years.
Fred enjoyed trains, r.c. airplanes, woodworking and cooking; but
his number one desire was to witness to others about the goodness of
the Lord.
Left to cherish his memory is his faithful caregiver and loving wife
of 41 years, Carolyn Hyler House; three daughters, Charissa Johnson
and husband Steven, Julia Bazemore and husband Douglas, and Stacey
House; his mother, Joyce Cooper House; a sister, Pamela Deehan;
three brothers, Stephen, Daniel and David House; nine grandchildren;
and a host of extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Friday, May 23, 2014 in
Living Waters Christian Fellowship, 2700 Gum Rd., Chesapeake 23321.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will
receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel
on Thursday evening from 6 – 8 PM.
