PORTSMOUTH - Cheryl Fields Schmus, 58, died in her home Nov. 4, 2007, after a long illness.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father and brother all of Portsmouth.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, James C. Schmus; sons, Jason and Nathan of Portsmouth; brother, Gary and his wife Patricia of Derry, N.H.; and grandchildren, Nickolas and Brayden Schmus of Richmond and Samantha, Ryan and Cheyenne Cunningham also of Richmond.
Cheryl was a former employee of State Farm Insurance and Gomley Chesed Synagogue in Portsmouth. She was an avid sports fan and for many years was involved with Cradock Little League as a coach. She was a lifelong baseball fan whose allegiance was always to her one favorite team, the Atlanta Braves.
Arrangements are being handled privately by the family. In lieu of flowers, Cheryl asks to please make a donation to any local chapter of the S.P.C.A.
