Portsmouth - Johnny Lawrence Gower, Sr., 70, of the 400 block of Sussex Dr. passed away on Friday, April 10, 2015. He was born on September 23, 1944 in Kinston, NC to the late Larry and Rosalee Gower. Johnny was an auto mechanic by trade.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela B. Gower; his daughter, Christina Gower Jackson and her husband William; his son, Johnny L. Gower, Jr. and his wife Crystal; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 3 PM Wednesday, April 15, 2015 in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 8 PM.
