PORTSMOUTH - D. Wayne Silcott, 62, of the 800 block of Stanley Road, died May 10, 2005, in his residence.

He was born in Portsmouth and was a retired salesman with Hercules Truck Accessories. He was an avid football fan and his favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys.

He is survived by his wife, Betsy C. Silcott; two daughters, Robin A. Hope of Chesapeake and Teresa A. Niece of Kellen, Texas; four sons, David E. Silcott of Smithfield, Donald L. Silcott of Jacksonville, Fla., Brian W. Silcott of Suffolk and William Newbern of Sunset, Utah; a sister, Pat Wotten of Portsmouth; and 11 grandchildren.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Snellings Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel by Pastor Keith Lewis. Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery .
