He was a member of the American and Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Tidewater chapter of CPAs, PI Kappa Alpha of Old Dominion University and the Too Much Fun Club #71. Francis was a U.S. Army veteran who served in Vietnam. He is survived by his wife, Paula Werz Hornik; two daughters, Elizabeth D. Manning and husband Jerry of Suffolk and Alice L. Hornik of Chesapeake; one son, Francis Clay Hornik and his Partner Perry Morse of Front Royal, VA; three grandchildren, Johnathon, Lowell and Jason; and Harry Truman, his beloved Schauzer. A memorial service with military honors will be held 3 P.M. Tuesday, May 3, at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel by the Rev. Leroy Curtis. Burial will be later at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or to Schnauzer Rescue Mid Atlantic, P.O. Box 5034 Laurel, MD. Send
