CHESAPEAKE - Everett Leon Pruitt, 66, of the 2400 block of Lofurno Road, passed away July 2, 2006, in a Portsmouth hospital. He was a native of Landrum, S.C.

He is survived by his father, Willie B. Pruitt and stepmother, Alzira Pruitt. He is also survived by his two sons, Daniel L. Broome and Christopher S. Broome, both of Anaheim, Calif.; four grandchildren; his brother, Harley Pruitt and wife Jane O. of Portsmouth; and his niece, Robin Pruitt Devine of Virginia Beach.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Wayne Underwood. Friends are welcomed to visit the family at 4106 Manchester Road, Portsmouth, at other times. Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel, is handling the arrangements.
