Dewey Spraggins "Nick" Nicholls Class of 1957 | CHESAPEAKE - Dewey Spraggins "Nick" Nicholls, 71, of Bruin Drive, died Dec. 28, 2010 in a Portsmouth hospital. A native of Portsmouth, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kay Ferrell Nicholls, and a brother, Edward Lee Nicholls. He was a retired CWO-4 in the Coast Guard with 30 years of service. Nick was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Suffolk, and the Chief Warrant Officers' Association. Survivors include one son, Willard M. Ennis Jr. and wife DeAnn of Hurst, Texas; two daughters, Cindy Nicholls of Portsmouth and Victoria Teresa Nicholls of Chesapeake; one brother, Dennis Nicholls of Milford, Mass. Fondly known as Pop Pop, he is also survived by three grandchildren, James Ennis and wife Amber, Austin Ennis and Isabel Ennis; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family. A funeral with military honors will be held Saturday, Jan. 1, at 10 a.m. in Faith Lutheran Church by Pastor Scott Benson. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens at a later date.
