Portsmouth - Ned Sherrill Story, 75, of the 600 block of McLean St. passed away on Fri., Jan. 4, 2013 in a local hospital. He was born on Nov. 17, 1937 in Lenoir, NC to the late August and Blanche Story. Ned was a 1956 graduate of Cradock High School and a retired truck driver.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene H. Story; five sons, Billy Hopson and his wife Deborah, Tim Story and wife Juanita, Craig Story, Keith Story and wife Kelly, and Kevin Story and wife Kim; two sisters, Jo Culpepper and Jean Lamb; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. Mon., Jan. 7, 2013 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel on Sun. from 3 - 5 pm. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com
