Chesapeake - Calvin Munrett Geiss passed away on Monday, September 01, 2014. He was the son of the late Henry & Emily Geiss. He was predeceased by his sister, Gladys Flaugherty; brother, Henry H. Geiss; and granddaughter, Erin Rose Butler.

Calvin was a graduate of Cradock High School, class of 1954 & Norfolk College, class of 1956. He retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard in 1993 as an Industrial Engineer Technician with 38 years of service. He also retired from the VA Army National Guard in 1979 & The United States Army in 1996. He served four years with The United States Air Force Drum & Bugle Corps in Washington, DC and three years in The United States Coast Guard Reserve. He was a member of The Virginia Choral Society for 24 years.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela Eure Geiss, originally of Suffolk; daughters, Jennifer Smith of Angier, NC, Tracy Johnson & husband, Greg of Cheaspeake, and Heather Daniel of Virginia Beach; step-son, Robert M. Potter & wife Kimberlea of Chesapeake; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchidren.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 11:00 AM at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, VA, 23434 by the Rev. Michael D. Halley. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
