PORTSMOUTH - Paris Henry Thompson, 69, formerly of Portsmouth and a resident of Silver Springs, Fla. where he moved three years ago, died June 16, 2003 in Chesapeake.
A native of Athens, W.Va., he was a retired ironworker from the Local 79 where he was very active on its Executive Board. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife, Glenda L. Thompson; daughter, Tracey Robb and husband Charles of Norfolk; a son, Paris H. Thompson Jr. and wife Doris of Chesapeake; two stepsons, Mark Clere and wife Janie of Silver Springs, Fla. and Steven Clere and wife Denise of Lakeland, Fla.; a sister, Ella Panzara of Chesapeake; two brothers, Joe Thompson of Portsmouth and James Thompson of Norfolk; nine grandchildren; and 10 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Lillian Hartung.
