BARBER, Elizabeth, (Betty), 69, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, April 16, 2002, of cancer at the Raleigh Court Health Care Center. Betty was a retired saleswoman who worked twenty years with Leggett / Belk at Tanglewood Mall. She was a good mother, a good wife, and good golly just an all around wonderful person. She is survived by her three sons, Thomas Barber of Wilmington, N.C., Tim Barber of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Terry Barber of Roanoke, Va.; one sister, Arlene Schwab of Honolulu, Hawaii; and one brother, George Schwab of Redmond, Wash. A memorial graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Sherwood Memorial Park with Rev. Richard Fife officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Oakey's South Chapel. The casket will be open for viewing between 6 and 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 554, Roanoke, Va. 24003-0554.
