Wesley Lafayette Goodrich Jr., 70, died Sept. 24, 2001. He was a native of Suffolk, a charter member of Grove Park Baptist Church, a member of Churchland Masonic Lodge No. 276, Portsmouth Scottish Rite Bodies, and past patron of Ester Chapter No. 37 Order of the Eastern Star. He was a salesman for George Lee and R&J plumbing supply and was the former manager of Imperial 400 and Sunset Manor Motels.
He is survived by his wife Patricia E. Goodrich; four daughters,Pat G. Kaplan and husband, Joel of Portland, Ore., Sharon G. Donaldson of Portsmouth, Lesley Faye Moseberth and husband, Linnie of Chesapeake and Lee Ellen Goodrich of Durham, N.C.; a son-in-law, Chip McCants of Chesapeake; a sister, Paige G. Heise of Portsmouth; brother, Charles R. Goodrich and wife, Sandi of Little Rock, Ark.; 10 grandchildren, Joseph, Jessica, Madison, Taylor, Linsley, Lisa, Julie, Lance, Jimmy and Brandon; and two special nieces, Kim and Kelley. His daughter, Diana McCants predeceased him.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Grove Park Baptist Church by the Rev. Terry Riddle. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery with Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends in Loving Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, today from 6:30 to 8 p.m. with an Eastern Star service starting at 6:30 p.m. The family suggests memorial contributions to cancer research.
