PORTSMOUTH - Dorothy Kellam Hall, 74, went to be with the Lord Dec. 29, 2007. She was a native of Portsmouth and formerly of Gloucester and Fairfax. Dorothy attended Chesapeake Avenue United Methodist Church where she served with the Society of St. Stephen. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and involved with Meals on Wheels.
Dorothy was the widow of the late John Wesley Hall. She is survived by her two daughters, Susan H. Helwege and her husband Tim of Alexandria, Roxanne H. Pegram and her husband George of Norfolk; four grandchildren, Jessica, Allison, Rebecca and Courtney; two sisters, Betty Lou Lake, Carolyn Stone and her husband Dave; a brother, Lloyd Kellam Jr. and his wife Francis and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Chesapeake Avenue United Methodist Church by Dr. Louis Martin with burial in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Loving Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, Tuesday from 4 to 5:30 p.m. and they suggest memorial contributions to the Society of St. Stephen c/o Chesapeake Avenue United Methodist Church 1200 Chesapeake Ave., Chesapeake, VA 23324.
