Dott Ann Cooper Key -
Dottie passed away in her home May 28, 2007, with her children by her side. She was born in 1931, the only child of the late H.W. Cooper and the late Evelyn Briggs Dickens. She graduated from Cradock High School and Kee Business College where she met the love of her life, L. Loren Kee Jr. They were married for 40 wonderful years until his passing in 1990. Dott is survived by her loving children: a son, Steven W. Kee and his wife Tammy Rightmier Kee; a daughter, Sandra Kee Greene and her husband Shawn S. Greene; two grandsons she adored and was very proud of, Connor Kee and Mason Kee, all of Virginia Beach. Throughout her life she had been active in many charitable and service organizations including Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters Thalia Hope Circle, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, The Thalia Garden Club, Thalia Civic League, Kempsville Women's Club and Ladies of the Moose. For many years she was a member of Park Place Baptist Church and Thalia Lynn Baptist Church. In recent years she enjoyed Charles Stanley In Touch Ministries. Dott lived in the same neighborhood since 1959 and truly loved her home and her neighbors. She was an avid Washington Redskins and an ACC basketball fan. While her husband was alive she loved cruising and deep sea fishing. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Altmeyer Funeral Home in Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, or to a charity of one's choice. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.altmeyer.com. |
