PORTSMOUTH - Owen C. "Buddy" Lewis Jr., 85, a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away July 4, 2007. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Betty Beard Lewis.

He is survived by a daughter, Linda Lewis Price and husband Roy; and two sons, Mark Lewis, wife Pam and Bruce Lewis; five grandchildren, Chandra Haegele and Philip Boyle, Andrew, Rachel and Justin Lewis; and three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Grace and Parker Haegele; and a sister, Shirley Bonenberger.

He served in the U.S. Navy and retired from Elizabeth River Terminals and Almont Shipping. He was a lifelong member of Cradock United Methodist Church and was also a member of Lake Drummond Masonic Lodge.

A memorial service will be held in Cradock United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Saturday. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Cradock UMC, 24 Channing Ave., Portsmouth, VA 23702.
