CHESAPEAKE - Audrey Hinton Pannell, 81, of the 3200 block of Taylor Road, went to be with the Lord Feb. 24, 2008 in a Virginia Beach hospital. A native of Kaneysville, W.Va., she was a retired guidance counselor and teacher at Cradock High School after 33 years. She graduated from Madison College with a B.S. degree in business and received her master's degree from the College of William and Mary. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Richard Warren Pannell; a brother, Douglas Hinton of Fairfax, Va.; two sisters-in-law, Eleanor Tate and husband Bill of Portsmouth and Elsie Sanderford and husband Sandy of Raleigh, N.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in St. John's Episcopal Church by the Rev. Ron Greiser. Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. www.sturtevantfuneralhome.com.
